Guild Gallery Update

Check out The Guild Gallery for a great picture of painted heavy infantry figures with detailed shield decals by Dan Becker.

Nicely done!

Very nicely done, indeed! It both amazes and sickens me at how detailed people can paint such tiny figures, namely because I could have a 40mm figure with no details and still screw it up.

So I wonder what kinds of paint people are using on these figs, to keep it from flaking off? Or is the secret in the primer?

It’s usually a good idea to give plastic figures a wash with detergent and water first, to wash off any moulding process residue. Then prime with white or black spray as preferred (the Games Workshop primer is expensive but good). Acrylic colours (GW, Vallejo, Privateer Press PPP) will then go on this perfectly. Finish with matt or gloss spray varnish for protection.

There’s a topic section in the Forums where you can ask about painting methods.
